FORMAL OPENING -

OCTOBER 2013

A pioneering new eco system harnessing the energy of the Thames to heat 137 new homes and a hotel in Kingston is officially up and running.

Energy Secretary MP Edward Davey was the special guest at the launch of the groundbreaking new system that will provide hot water and heating to residents living in the Kingston Heights complex using thermal energy from the Thames.

The heat-pump system can produce around 2.3 Megawatts of thermal energy abstracting water from the Thames at a rate of 150 litres per second each day, harvesting low grade heat before boosting the temperature using technology designed by Mitsubishi Electric.

When finished, the Kingston Heights development will be split between 56 affordable apartments for Affinity Sutton and 81 luxury apartments called River Walk.

A 142-bedroom 4 Star Hotel & Conference Centre will also be anticipated to open by Spring next year. All will receive heating & cooling from the Thames.
